What this template is for
Use a memo when something changes for the team and people need it in writing: a new leave policy, an office move, a new supplier, a change in who approves expenses. Email is fine for a quick note. A memo is easier to file, to pin on a notice board and to find again later.
It suits offices, clinics, shops and workshops of any size, and it is written so the reader has the news in the first two lines.

Questions
When should I write a memo instead of an email?
When the message is a decision people need to keep and find again, or when it goes on a notice board. Use email for questions and quick updates.
How long should a memo be?
One page. If it needs more, attach the detail as a separate document.
Who should a memo come from?
The person who made the decision or owns the change, so questions go to the right place.
Use it in Supernatural
Supernatural: everything your business runs on, with Blue as your part-time admin. Word is one of its apps. In your workspace, you ask Blue for “a memo to the team”. Blue starts from this template, writes in what you give it, and leaves [brackets] where something is missing. Before it makes the document, Blue shows you which template it chose and what it will write. Nothing is made until you say yes.
